Applied art

I paint and design unique pieces that transform the beauty of nature into applied art: paintings, accessory-art, created in my workshop.

I want elegance without opulence.

I want exclusivity without distance.

Simplicity and attractiveness without labels.

The nature of things inspires my everyday life. As a 21st century artist I spend time creating and developing art but I also spend time as an entrepreneur to manage and produce everything I create. It puts some pressure on me, but I diffuse it when I paint and dream about my things....

In 2021 I opened my own Studio-Atelier in the city where I live, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where I develop part of my artistic work such as the exhibition and sale of my paintings, re-decorations and my capsule collections in object-jewellery and accessory-art.

I have also created the graphic image of different events for several companies such as Hotel Santa Catalina Royal Hideway of the Barceló group in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Christmas campaign 2023.

In 2022 I created and produced the graphic image for the airline Binter on the day of the Canary Islands national and regional flights. I also created the graphic image for the Formentor Awards 2022, held at the Hotel Santa Catalina Royal Hideway of the Barceló group in Las Palmas de G. Canaria. Graphic image for Christmas 2023 Hotel LIVVO, Grumasa Group. I develop decoration and interior design projects for homes.

My work is sold in my Atelier called ELENA DE HADOS ATELIER, C/ Joaquin Blanco Torrent 1, Muelle deportivo in Las Palmas and the main museum shops in Gran Canaria such as CAAM and Casa de Colón. Also at the Hotel Santa Catalina Royal Hideaway. Bodega Stratvs and Concept Stores ROOM 214 Hotel Fariones, Lanzarote island. HOME DECORATION, Saint Tropez and Miladeco Lajares, Fuerteventura island.

Currently I collaborate as an artist in the renowned architecture, interior design and decoration studios, Bogana estudio, Mobashowroom, MO espacios con alma and Miladeco interiorismo.

I go into nature in search of the unique magic it gives us.

I submerge myself in the ocean, I bathe in the woods, in this way I develop the art I create. Paintings, jewellery, artwear and other plastic expressions that enhance the uniqueness of the brand I have been creating over the years.

My universe is accompanied by beauty and harmony. Some people find in my paintings a place to rest and dream, a dip in the deep blue sea, the texture of a tree that tells them stories, the longed-for peace of a refuge or a beautiful piece that conveys freshness and identity.

My training in Applied Arts and Design taught me to create functional beauty, where art becomes part of everyday life. I am an artist by education and a creator of objects that cross painting, design, author jewelry, and textiles. I began by teaching painting techniques, making jewelry with fabrics and beads that I sold to shops, and today Elena de Hados is the result of an experimental, intuitive, and persevering process.

I work with materials such as metals, plant-based leather, circular-economy linen, polymers, and pyrite mineral to shape unique pieces that inhabit the space between the visual and the functional. Each work is born from gesture, experimentation, and the desire to create beauty to be used and above all felt. It is art and functionality with the essence of design, handmade in my workshop.

My intention is to continue making tangible my personal interpretation of art, creating what is truly my own and, above all, sincere.
