Coral and Ochre Tree Paper Sheet. Tree Skins Collection

This print marks a personal and artistic transition. It was created at a time of change, as a bridge between two stages of my life.

Ethereal flowers and tree skin are transformed here into a visual and tactile experience. The large coral-toned stain, vibrant, dense, almost visceral, alludes to the living bark of the tree: its rough texture, its hidden layers, its history.

In contrast, the softer gestures -transparencies, splashes, subtle spirals- evoke ephemeral and delicate flowers, as if sprouting from within the wood itself, or from a hidden memory. The mixture of techniques and layers suggests what is and what vanishes at the same time, because that is what the process has been like while painting: a coming and going between what remains and what goes.

It is a work that plays with contrasts: the dense and the light, the controlled and the spontaneous. It does not need to explain, only to be felt. That tension between what it covers and what it lets you see reflects a narrative that, in some way, has always been present in my path.
